Polishing
This stage of the commission process requires great care and attention to determine the final quality and feel of the finished piece. We use a variety of staining and polishing methods in order to match the desired finish, from traditional hand french polishing methods, to wax finishes or a more modern durable lacquered finish.
Painted and Lacquered finishes
There are a wide range of paint and lacquered finishes that can be used, applied either by hand or sprayed, as well as graining effects which enhance the timber's natural grain and beauty.
Distressing and Antique finishes
Years of experience working on the restoration and handling of antique furniture has enabled us to be able to re-create and match the aged effects and patinas of years of use by utilising traditional polishing methods.
Gilding
This is an age old artful skill, which can give stunning effects when applied by hand, either as partial gilding or to the entire piece.
Upholstery
Some pieces of furniture make use of upholstery by being fully or partly covered. A wide range of materials can be used, from fabrics to leather, to complement each piece.
